The Good Old Days

Venezuela used to be a bright spot in South America. It was a vibrant country which was considered a good place to live. It had a great economy, wealth, and life was good. Then in a short period of time people are in the streets looking for something to eat and finding little. The good life is no longer available, except for the elites. (Think of Nancy Pelosi’s top of the line freeze/refrigerator that is so well stocked with her needed ice cream). Freedom has eroded, the basics of life are not readily available, and the heavy hand of socialism/communism has eviscerated the country’s former prosperity to a land of getting by.

Now America is heading down that same path. What was once a bright light of freedom in the world, a prosperous and generous nation of “We the People”, has become a nation of “we the government”. The good life for the “common” people continues to shrink as the government decides what we should or should not have. If we have ice cream, vanilla may be our only choice. The full vision of the left is for us to own nothing and like it. The reality of living in the streets will become more acceptable for those not running the country. For those in power and own everything, life will be good, like the good old days of the Soviet Union.
