“The third doctrine Luther mentioned would drive home Luther’s whole argument regarding the practices of the church. It was common during the Lord’s Supper for only an ordained priest to administer the sacraments. Luther argued that there should not be a “special” order for ordained priests, but rather that through Christ’s sacrifice, all believers were made priests. Therefore, all believers had access to God through Christ.” Eric Metaxis, Martin Luther.
All believers have entered a royal priesthood in the Church of the body of Christ.
1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
